WHY FINANCIAL LITERACY?
Almost half of all parents say they don’t set a good example when it comes to handling their own money and are not capable of properly teaching their children 57% of parents say most kids do not understand the value of money American children, teens and young adults earned about $211 billion in 2003 In 2003, Teens spent $175 billion, averaging $103 per week In 2003, 8-to-14-years-olds, so-called “tweens”, spent $39 billion 64% of consumers ages 18 to 24 don't even know the interest rates they pay on their credit cards The fastest growing group declaring bankruptcy is adults age 20 to 24 More people last year filed for bankruptcy than graduated from college For more about what Americans are doing with their money, click the link below.
